WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Most individuals experience a somewhat difficult time becoming acclimated to the Cool Plunge (which is kept at a constant 50 degrees), while most everyone easily acclimates to the Warm Plunge (which is kept at a constant 104 degrees),. The Cool Plunge becomes more and more natural to your senses, the more often your immerse yourself and the benefits of alternating between the two pools can be felt almost immediately after each treatment session.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Muscles constrict in Cold Water and Blood Vessels expand in Hot Water. By systematically moving from a hot pool to a cold pool for a determined amount of time, blood flow increases which stimulates circulation. As this occurs, muscles flush out inflammation mediators accelerating the healing process.
HOW LONG IS A TREATMENT SESSION?
At Vitality, our Plunge Pools can be used at your discretion and comfort level. However, for ideal benefits, the optimum time in the Warm Plunge is 3 minutes, followed by 1 minute in the Cool Plunge. A total Treatment Session, for optimal results repeat process for 20 minutes.
