Answers to the Top 5 Mud Bath Questions

1. IS IT REAL MUD?
Yes, but not the “mud” you might be envisioning. Today’s science has caused a revolution in the Mud Bath Industry. Vitality has partnered with companies who source out the richest minerals, clays & ash in their region. Each of our partner companies compress & grind their minerals down into very fine crystals and powders that are sprinkled in the bath and react with the mineral spring water we use to fill the tub.
Vitality’s Mud baths are similar to bath salts in texture. However, unlike traditional bath salts, these purified mud bath granules naturally have negative ionic charges and an alkaline pH. These special properties help draw out free radicals and toxins from the body through the pores in the skin. This not only helps to detoxify the body, but it nourishes the skin as well. Our Mud Baths provide all the best properties from traditional mud baths… without the mess! Vitality is proud to offer 4 unique mud bath experiences. Our Mud Baths are provided by Alaska Glacial Mud, Volcanic Earth, Dead Sea Natural and Nutrex Hawaii. If you are looking for only the finest ingredients to nourish your skin, you’ve come to the right place!

2. HOW HOT IS THE MUD BATH?
The temperature in the mud bath starts at approximately 100-102 degrees, the temperature can also be adjusted to meet your preferences.

3. WHAT DO I WEAR DURING THE MUD BATH?
99% of our clients wear only their birthday suits. There will be a spa attendant who will assist you before & after the treatment, and your privacy will be respected. If you are not comfortable being nude we suggest that you wear a bathing suit or under garments in the tub. Please note, anything you wear in the mud bath may discolor from the minerals.

4. IS THERE A COUPLES MUD BATH?
Our Mud Bath Tubs are deeper than traditional bath tubs, but are relatively the same dimensions. This ensures the mud stays at an optimal temperature during the soak. We recommend partners book together, but enjoy their mud baths separately, at the same time, in separate private rooms.

5. I WANT TO DO THE MUD BATH, BUT MY PARTNER DOES NOT?
No problem. You can do the mud bath, and your partner can do an herbal mineral bath, just next door to your room…or any number of our Spa Services!

5. ARE THERE ANY SITUATIONS WHERE I SHOULD NOT DO A MUD BATH?
You should not do the mud bath if you have any circulatory or nervous system issues, decreased or abnormal sensitivity to heat, or increased or decreased sensitivity to heat due to diabetes. You should not do the mud bath if you are pregnant, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, have high or low blood pressure, have a heart condition, have open wounds or skin rashes, or have any condition that can be aggravated by heat. Don’t do the mud bath if you have any impairment that will prevent you from getting in or lifting yourself out of the mud tub.
